Growing up in Alaska, my uncle's cabin dawned a massive Bison mount high up on the wall. As a child, with my neck craned toward the lodge ceiling, it seemed this massive beast was larger than life in it’s majesty and glory. I think this has contributed to my fascination with the Bison. When we encounter realities in the wild that remind us how small we are and how striking creation can be- it can feel like our lives- our very selves - expand to meet the moment.
